The Expert 7th Period 8/14/18

This video was very confusing and frustrating. These people represented a business meeting and they used similar terms to how they are perceived to be run in real life; but, the actual meaning behind many of the things they were saying made absolutely no sense. The “expert” in the video understood that mathematically and physically, the things the women were asking him to do were impossible. There is literally no way around the fact that these tasks could not be accomplished; however, the rest of the people participating in the meeting were persistent in the fact that everything that was suggested could be provided and executed easily without further questioning. Throughout the meeting, the two men who brought the “expert” from their company were so concerned with meeting the women’s expectations in order to make money and more business allies that they disregarded every time the “expert” denied the possibilities of these things ever actually happening. The women were not educated on the subject that was needed in order to request the things they asked for; therefore, they did not understand the restrictions on what they were asking. The men were also not educated but were not really focusing on the actual doing of the project, but the rewards of doing it for them. Eventually, realizing he would never be understood, the “expert” accepted the fact that he was going to have to meet their needs even if there was a lie or two involved and they would never know the difference.

I think that this video is saying that some people are so uneducated about certain topics that sometimes, you just have to go along with them. Because the longer you argue with them about it, that is more time wasted, because they will never understand what you are saying. I also think that it is saying that you should not expect so much out of someone just because of their job title. Doctors, for example, are someone that know a lot about what they do but they come across some cases where they are stumped because they do not have an answer to your problem. The expert in this video is in a situation where he is in a meeting with people about something so simple. To him, the solution is easy, but to the others, the solution is confusing

All of the people in the video were relying on the expert to do multiple impossible tasks even though he proved to them that drawing 7 perpendicular lines in impossible because lines are straight. I would get very angry and impatient with the people if they told me to do what they were telling the “expert” to do. The people in charge of the job had no idea what they were talking about, and what a line was for that matter even after the expert explained to them what the problem was multiple times they did not listen. Who was they guy that was at the head of the table because I feel like I’ve seen him before but I do not known where or what his name was and that bothered me throughout the course of the video. At one point in the video I almost stopped paying attention and just thought about who that guy was
