Anthony Griffith 7th Period Reaction

The video mainly showed me how different people can be behind closed doors and how it’s very hard to know what they are truly going through. Anyone and everyone can have something that hurts them, but they are just unwilling to bring it up to anyone so many reasons. It also shows that the longer they keep this private and to themselves the worse it can get, as he even says he began blaming people for his daughter having cancer. They probably tell themselves that everything’s okay and they can just man up and get through it, but a lot of times it takes more than one person to tackle an issue of any kind. As far as we know, someone could sit in their room every night and cry themselves to sleep for any reason possible that’s why it’s our responsibility to talk to people and make them feel happy any chance you get so maybe they will be courageous enough to tell someone about what goes on inside their head, and find help.

This video is so true in so many ways. Our world today wants everyone to see the happy side of everything and to be happy all of the time, but for some people, that’s not always the case. This guy had everything going good for him. His daughter was in remission and way just steps away from being cancer free. Then he gets an offer to be on the tonight show. There’s not a whole lot better than that. But then he receives word that his daughter’s cancer had come back up and harder this time. He was so upset and was looking for someone to blame because he didn’t know why this was happening to his daughter. He then got another offer to be on the Tonight Show again. He loved every bit of it getting applause breaks but inside he was frustrated and upset. He wanted to tell everyone how upset he was and how he’s not actually this happy inside. Then he just kept telling himself to man up. I think that this video is a great lesson for everyone. Many people may have a lot of things and be famous and popular, but you don’t know what they actually have going on in their life. They could be going through unimaginable things that you can’t see just looking at them. This video is a lesson for all of us!

This was a very emotional speech. I’ve personally never dealt with anyone in my family having cancer but my nana got really sick and my mom had to pull the plug on her which made me cry a little bit. Nana had been to the hospital every year on the same month and it got worse every time she went. The last time was the worst time and she finally passed away. I hope this man is coping with his anger and getting better no one should have to live with something like that. This is what this video reminded me of

He said he would’ve given up all of his days being a comedian and all of his dreams that he had accomplished… for just one more day with his daughter.

I also think that the title that he gave his speech was wonderful, after all life is full of ups and downs and sometimes they come at the same time and you end up just focusing on one of them.

That man has suffered greatly and it is unbelievable that he was still able to perform after all that he had been through, let alone tell his story, relive his story, again.
